Where it all began...
The story of EZDeet™ began when Matt Garbe was just 10 years old, helping his father and future business partner, Craig Garbe, assemble a basketball hoop. Craig recognized Matt’s natural talent for construction and told him, “You’ve got a gift for building things.” That simple observation sparked Matt’s dream of building houses. Years later, his talent and dedication led him to a career in framing, where his passion for improving efficiency ultimately inspired the creation of EZDeet™.
Re-framing Innovation
Framing layout is the "brains" behind construction. It’s where you snap lines, mark studs, and ensure everything is positioned perfectly. While working as a layout carpenter, Matt began noticing ways to streamline the process—particularly how much time he was wasting switching between his tape measure and square. So, he designed the first version of the EZDeet™, a tool that combines the essential functions of both into one.
On-Site Success
Over the years, EZDeet™ has gone through several versions, each refined based on Matt's own experiences and feedback from fellow framers. The tool has been tested in the field, adjusted, and improved with one goal in mind: to help builders like you work faster, more accurately, and with fewer mistakes.
